With university degrees in both anthropology and translation, I chose to combine the two intellectual disciplines that have long inspired me, for the endless opportunities they offer to explore and understand the Other.
My knowledge of different fields in human and social sciences, combined with my understanding of the specific techniques required for a professional translation, allow me to offer specialist services to universities, research centres, publishers and other organisations that need translations in the human and social sciences.

According to the American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS), social science texts “require of the translator an intimate knowledge of the subject matter at hand”1.
Social science terms and concepts are developed in specific cultural, social and political contexts, which makes it difficult for non-specialist translators to translate the full extent of their meaning from one context to another.
Because these terms are culture-specific, but also closely related to a particular community of scholars, the translator must “be familiar not only with the subject matter of the text but also with the broader field of meanings through which it moves”2.
Social science translators must know and thoroughly understand the vocabulary used within the discipline and the academic, social and historical context to which the text belongs.
